De-clutter, Streamline, De-personalize
Staging means incorporating proven techniques that will make a home more attractive to a potential buyer. The first step is getting rid of or hiding your clutter (make sure you have some place other than the kitchen table for bills). Next we'll streamline the space: we want your furniture and accessories to illustrate the function of each room of the home, and we want to remove anything that distracts from that purpose. Which includes depersonalizing. A wedding photo or a portrait of Grandma may be beautiful and perfect for you, but to a buyer it says: "This is someone else's home."
